Mark Tremonti, the well known guitarist of both Creed and Alter Bridge debuts his first solo album, All I Was, and a magnificent record at that. From the first track

of droning guitars to the intensified crescendo of the final closing of the album, Tremonti has officially placed himself in the legendary grouping of being a metal god. Expect classic, crunchy Tremonti solos and well-fitting, delicate strumming patterns (found on the heart-wrenching tracks “The Things I’ve Seen” & “New Way Out”) that overcome the emotions you thought you locked away a long time ago. Prepare your mind for a trip into a dark abyss of musical ups and downs. A must have for all metal and hard rock fans, this is how pure solitude would sound if it could scream. Heavy, muddy rhythms pull you under on this one. “Wish You Well”, the third track off the record, is proof of that. It’s one of my absolute favorites off this album and a totally rambunctious tune that gets your attitude buzzing. Add a bit of a rattle to your bones and satisfy your metal craving with blazing solos that tangle up the fret board. Along with being a talented guitarist and vocalist, the lyrical aspect of Tremonti’s writing is incredibly relatable and easily recognizable on every single track. This is the gritty zone between pure hard rock and metal, so it’s extremely versatile to a listener’s taste. Coming out on July 17th, All I Was will surely surpass your expectations.
