Jason Jones’ eponymous EP was released via his label, Warner Music Nashville. It opens with his spitfire lead-off single “Ferris Wheel,” which is tearin’ up the Billboard Country Charts; moreover, Jones recently filmed a noteworthy music video for the song which shows him and a group of friends having a good time at an amusement park.
His fun and up-tempo “Hang Around” changes the pace of the EP, meanwhile his vocals are as mellifluous as ever on the catchy “What’s That Cowgirl See in Me.”
The highlight song on this EP is the stunning ballad “You’re My Favorite,” which features Sarah Buxton’s beautiful voice on harmony. It ought to be released as a future single since it is the quintessential song for any wedding ceremony.
Jones’ EP closes with “She Was,” the tune which he dubs as his personal favorite.
Overall, all six tracks on Jones’ EP are remarkable. If any country listener were to listen to this EP with their eyes closed, they would think they are listening to Keith Urban. Jones’ vocals are almost identical to Urban’s, which is quite a compliment since the Aussie mega-star is one of the most successful male artists country has ever known. Hopefully, Jones will someday follow in his footsteps.
This EP is a sign of bigger and better things to come from Jones, as he makes his fans anxiously await for his upcoming full-length album Ferris Wheel.
