Eli Young Band’s latest studio album Life at Best was released on August 16, 2011 via their label, Republic Nashville.
It opens with the catchy “Even if it Breaks Your Heart” and it is followed by their spitfire, chart-topping Billboard single “Crazy Girl,” co-written by country star Lee Brice, which is one of the favorites on the album.
Equally remarkable are “Every Other Memory,” “Skeletons,” “The Fight” and the melancholic ballad “I Love You”; moreover, “War on a Desperate Man” is yet another powerhouse vocal, and “My Old Man’s Son” would make a good choice for a future radio single for the Eli Young Band.
The album closes on a fun note with their uptempo, title track, which is worthy of the repeat button.
With the exception of a few filler tracks, Life at Best is a solid record by one of the genre’s most promising bands. With “Crazy Girl” as their lead single, the album is off to a great start.
If they continue to record such quality country material, the Eli Young Band may very well become the next Rascal Flatts of country music.
