Brantley Gilbert CD Review: “Halfway to Heaven” (Deluxe Edition)

Brantley Gilbert's "Halfway To Heaven" CD

Brantley Gilbert’s Halfway to Heaven (deluxe edition) was released on September 13, 2011, via his label, Valory Music Group. Gilbert co-wrote all fifteen songs on the record.

It opens with the up-tempo “Hell of Wheels,” and it is followed by the fun “Bending the Rules and Breaking the Law” and “Back in the Day.”

The catchy “My Kinda Crazy” is worthy of the repeat button, and he showcases some attitude on “Kick It in the Sticks.”

His hit single “Country Must Be Country Wide” recently topped the Billboard Hot Country Charts, and rightfully so! Hopefully, his latest single “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do” will fare equally well on radio. In this collection, “Dirt Road Anthem,” is featured as a duet with Colt Ford.

Other exquisite songs are “More than Miles,” “Them Boys,” and the up-tempo closing track “Hell On an Angel.”

My personal favorite track on the CD is the emotional ballad “Savin’ Amy,” where Gilbert showcases his vocal range and versatility as a singer-songwriter. This tune would make a stellar choice as a future single.

In summation, Brantley Gilbert’s Halfway to Heaven CD is solid from start to finish, and it is an asset for any country fan’s record collection. He is sure to be the next big superstar in country!

CD Rating: 4.5/5 stars
