A blitzkrieg of rock is hitting the United States this Fall. A multitude of bands including: Shinedown, Godsmack, Staind, Papa Roach, and P.O.D. are among the heavy hitters. These bands have toured together in the past on different occasions, but this time they are all jam packed into one night that’s sure to melt your face off. Many hard rock bands have played this festival historically and with separate stages there is sure to be a little something for everyone.
The Rockstar energy drink sponsored Uproar Festival came about in 2010, and since has been bringing many hard rock and heavy metal acts to the table. Inaugurated by John Reese, this festival was conceptualized as a replacement for the Taste of Chaos tour. Right out of the gate this festival brought many big names including Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, and Stone Sour just to name a few in 2010 and others like Seether, Sevendust, and Three Days Grace in 2011. This year’s line up is definitely worth seeing and affordable for lawn seats but the pit can range from 80 to 100 bucks a pop. VIP exclusive merchandise and a prime spots are available for $200 and meeting Shinedown along with the VIP merch and seats are $300. Besides the different acts playing they’ll be other activities as well including but not limited to autograph signings, giveaways, contests, and different forms of food and fun.
It’s ironic many of the bands on the bill are playing together because they have either toured or worked together in the past. The headliners, Shinedown have sold over 10 million copies of their current album Amaryllis and their single “Second Chance” is their most popular hit to date. The band has also played with Staind and Papa Roach on past tours as well.
Godsmack recently finished touring with Staind on the Mass Chaos tour and are reunited once again with their fellow state-mates for this one. Having released a live album titled, Live and Inspired, in May of this year, the crowd will go into a frenzy when hits like “Voodoo,” “Awake,” and “I Stand Alone” begin to play. Staind has had a huge fan following and great success for over a decade, with the mellower hits like “It’s Been Awhile” and “Outside” to the headbanging thunderous crowd pleasers like “For You” and “Not Again” as well as songs from their most recent self-titled album.
Papa Roach debuted in the year 2000 with the ground breaking “Last Resort” and have been described as similar to bands like Limp Bizkit with their own unique form of rap metal. They have toured with P.O.D. and Staind overseas before and will certainly blow people away with their songs “Getting Away with Murder” and “To Be Loved.” The band P.O.D. perhaps most known for their songs “Alive” and “Youth of the Nation” will bring their spiritual combination of rock and rap metal to the Ernie Ball Stage. They have played with many of the bands before including Staind during the Fall Brawl tour in 2005. Perhaps the wild card band of this festival, at least in my opinion is Fozzy fronted by WWE Superstar Chris Jericho. There will definitely be a grab bag of entertainment and different things to see and do at the festival and you won’t want to miss out.
